This print was originally sketched as a henna design to celebrate a mama-to-be. The design was created on her pregnant belly a couple of weeks before the baby arrived in in the winter of of 2017.

The Hamsa is a powerful symbol of protection, a perfect emblem for a moment of big change in one’s life.The mama-to-be had served in the Peace Corps in Morocco and came to love the protective amulet there.

Peonies are rich with symbolism — they are a quintessential symbol for spring, frequently representing love, luck, and prosperity.

**The paper is white with a slight metallic pearl sheen. It’s hard to convey how it looks in a photo, which is why these are on sale. I won’t be printing on this paper again, even though it’s quite pretty!
